Practitioners attend lectures on implant diagnosis, treatment planning and patient evaluation as well as all phases of implant prosthetic treatment. It is divided into three sessions of lectures and hands on laboratory sessions for both fixed and removable implant prosthetics.
This session concentrates on patient evaluation and treatment planning. There are more than 50 dental criteria that influence implant supported prostheses. These criteria are identified and given importance relative to long and short-term complications. Radiographic stent design, CT scan interpretation are presented in lecture and laboratory procedures. This will enable treatment planning of cases for the Surgical and Prosthetic Sessions. Single tooth posterior implants and socket preservation techniques are presented to allow the practioner to embark on these treatment aspects.
This course deals with treatment planning options for fixed partial dentures, treatment planning the maxilla, occlusal evaluation and premaxillary implant prosthetics, anterior single tooth implants, abutment selection for cemented prostheses, direct and indirect techniques of prosthesis fabrication, and crown height space considerations.
It also deals with cemented prostheses principles, implant protective occlusion and progressive bone loading, joining implants to teeth and the use of occlusal materials. Common Complications in implants. Prosthetics laboratories - workshops and patient demonstration (live) are also included.
This session deals with cement vs. screw in prostheses - their indications and complications, immediate loading and full arch prosthetics. Implant overdenture bar design and attachment selection for the maxilla and mandible and the step-by-step removable prosthesis fabrication are presented. An Intraoral photography section is included to assist with medico-lagal doccumentation. Methods of determination of vertical dimension and maxillo-mandibular relationships are presented.
Occlusal considerations, overdenture design according to implant and or soft tissue support are presented to simplify denture manufacture and enhance prosthesis and implant longevity.
